I have an Air-Ease 3 ton central air 2 line system.
The compressor does not start. The fans/air handler run, the thermostat seems fine. I had someone look at it and was told I need an entirely new system. There was voltage to the coils on the compressor.
I'm not sure where to go next.

did "THEY" check the run and start capacitors?Did they check the contactor?Did they check voltage at compressor when compressor tried to start? If "THEY" checked these items and ohmed compressor windings "THEY" did a good job.If "THEY" did not your repair bill might be large for a small problem.PDF
