Hey everyone! Well you know I love working in my flower garden and seeing new things come to life. But I have just now realized that I have more dirt than I have flowers. And then I have more weeds than flowers too! I was just curious if there is something I can do besides planting a trillion flowers that will cover up the dirt. Any tips on this would help. May sound like a crazy question seeing you need dirt for flowers just need to find a way to have more flowers or a type of flower that will grow and spread out over the dirt. Please email me at lindsey2481@hotmail.com if you have any tips for some reason I am not any good at checking forum responses. My genealogy information is so far behind because I can't keep up with forums. So if it isn't much trouble email me please. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Lindsey :)

Use mulch.

Hi Lindsey,

Sled is right. You can buy mulch by bulk if you need a lot, and it's cheaper than by the bag. There are different kinds of mulches. Cedar is the most expensive, but it helps repel insects. You can also find wood mulch free in some places. Particularly after a storm in your area that has knocked down a lot of trees, branches, etc. Check with your county agent.

We live in the country and I was lucky enough to have a dump truck load delivered to our yard by the people who were trimming all the trees, hedges, etc. in the ditches. I let it set until the next spring.

If you have a lot of leaves, you can also shred them for mulch.

I'll email you this link, but you can check a box where you will receive an email when someone replies to this.
