I have a small window a/c unit. Unfortunately, the windows in my current home (rented) are taller than they are wide. Will I ruin my old a/c unit if I turn it on its side to fit it in the window? Thanks for the help. We can use all the cooling we can here.

Hi. I received an answer about window shakers, but I"m still not sure what their function is, could someone explain please? Also, can they be purchased somewhere? Also, if I use "window shakers" will they prevent my a/c from being destroyed? Thanks once again.
