I have a Carrier model 58PAV Uplflow furnace and a Carrier model 38ckc central air conditioner. The problem is when I turn on the air conditioner, I blow a fuse on the board in the furnace. The furnace itslef works fine as we've had to run it in the last week but today we needed the air on and I blew a fuse again. We had someone out and they thought it was the thermostat so they replaced that but it still is doing the same thing.

I would look at the low voltage wiring to the condensing (outside) unit. There's either a damaged wire shorting conductors, or the coil to the contactor in the condensing unit has failed in a short.

That's my first guesstimate.
