Ok, I had the unit installed. I used it the first night. Temps about 90 during the day, house gets to about 82. About 6pm it starts to cool down...outside maybe about 75. So we turn it on. It DID cool down the house, but it took about 3 hours. Anyone know about how long you have to leave these on to get results? I know it depends on the outside temp.....but a general or average guess would be great.
I just want to make sure I have enough ventilation from the attic. My installer said I do, but I wanna make sure. The other reason I ask is I'm trying to knock my So Cal energy bill way down so we don't have to pay the higher rate....
thanks for your thoughts in advance.

Think of it this way.EVERYTHING,EVERYTHING in your house is at 82 degrees. The sofa, the walls, the floor,etc,etc....Your fan MUST extract this heat before the whole house tstat will shut off.If you take the amp reading on the name plate of your whole house fan///compared to the amp rating of your a/c you will see that you are saving BIG BUCKS.Sure it is not as quick to do your cooling BUT it is so cost effective.Give it a chance and you will learn how to regulate it>PDF.
