View Full Version : PINE TREES

THERE ARE PINE TREES ALONG OUR PROPERTY LINE SEPARATING THE
TWO YARDS. THE LAND BETWEEN THE PROPERTIES IS SOMEWHAT
WOODED. LAST FALL WE HAD THE SUCKER BRUSH CLEARED OUT
TO NEATEN UP THE PLACE. NOW I WOULD LIKE TO PLANT SOMETHING
THAT COULD ACT AS A BARRIER TO SEPARATE THE PROPERTIES.
WHAT FLOWERING SHRUB WOULD GROW NEAR THE PINE TREES, GETS
SUN UNTIL LATE AFTERNOON. ALSO, WHAT KIND OF QUICK GROWING
TALLER GREEN SHRUB WOULD GROW THERE? (ABORVITE??)
THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION

Hi Green,

You could grow azaleas or rhodos. The pine needles are acid, so you would want to find something that can grow in acid soil.

Any of the evergreen shrubs that you find at your nursery should do fine as well.

Beware, if you plant rodies or azaleas there. They do not need additional feedings. The soil under the trees is acidic enough extra will kill them.
