I'm about to order new 8 foot sliding patio doors - Ultra Series from Milgard - a fiberglass product. The existing sliding doors appear not to have nailing fins, rather they are secured by screws going through the frame where doors lie. Is there any reason I would want to purchase a nailing fin door and cut the stucco instead of a straight replacement? Is one installation method superior over another? Any difference in warping, sealing, etc?

Go without the fin, follow the instructions and caulk it well.

OK. I went without the fin.
