I have just had a home built and my husband and I are doing the interior painting. We have no knowledge of primers/paint and are looking for some info. Our walls are textured-what primer should we use and what type of paint (flat, satin)do people usually use in their living areas and bedrooms?

Is oil based primer best for kitchen and bath areas? Do you need to buy special kitchen/bath paint?

Also, are sprayers or rollers more effective?
