Years ago my wife planted 4 rhododendron plants along the fence in our yard. Over the years they have bloomed every spring, but that's about it. The leaves are sparse and the bush flowers less and less each year. They are planted on the north side of the fence and get pretty good sun. This year I have noticed many reddish leaves on each plant. I'm not much of a gardener, but I know these plants need something their not gettin! Acid,Iron-?? Help for a novice please!! Thanks

Sounds like low fertility. Add copious amts of compost around the root zone along with recommended amts of an acid-based fert (avail at any garden center).
