im building a hot tub room and will be tileing up to the edge of a wood cased tub what is the best way to seal the tile and the tub so water will not get under the tile or the tub case it is a above ground tub unit and i will be using 12x12 ceramic floor tiles ?

Hi Uncle Mig,
It would be best if the tile ran under the wood, instead of the tile stopping at the wood. If the wood is lower than the tile, then any moisture that happens to get in the joint will rot the wood. If the wood is above, you can see all of it, nipping in the bud any problems that might occur.

thanks john
here is my night mare -the floor was framed and sheeted and then the tub was place in it -the tub is like 900 lbs empty !
and the walls and roof framing was done the tub cant be rased to tile under it it took 6 guys to place it off the trailer on to the floor framing , i do plan on using wonder board under the tile and will install a floor drain -the room is 86" x86" and the room is 12 x12.6 and will have a corner shower unit in it !

I didn't mean to move the tub. Just get the tile under the wood skirting, instead of the wood being embedded in the tile.
