Any suggestions on knocking down texture that was done very poorly? Textured walls and ceiling also have paint over the texture, and perhaps lead paint under the layers. Who knows how long ago the texture job was done...

dianemaggipinto, If the texture has a lot of raised points it may be possible to use a sand pole to knock them down some. If it is a Mexican/Western look I doubt there is an easy fix as far as smoothing. If you start sanding do be cautious of the possible lead paint. Don't mess around with this stuff....Mike
