Yesterday I painted my front room "chilled lemonade", it was a very pretty light yellow color on the chip but on my walls it is soooooooooo verrrrrry bright almost heavy looking and I would welcome any suggestions on how to remedy this without having to completely repaint the room with a new color, Any Ideas???????? Thanks Susan

The general rule in choosing paint from paint chips is to choose one chip lighter than the actual color that you like, as colors tend to be brighter than on the chips. Perhaps you could tone down the too-bright walls with one of the popular painting techniques, using sponging, glazing, ragging, etc. and a lighter color or different color.

Susan,
I did the exact same thing this past weekend. The yellow I selected is waaayy too bright, and I think I have to repaint it two shades lighter. I think I have to repaint the wall completely (small wall in solarium)
No other ideas to tone it down. Looks like romper room.

I had the same problem. Purchased a gallon which looked so nice at the store. My daughter said the room looked like
a jar of mustard.
I bought another gallon two shades lighter.
I did notice that Lowes has a light on the counter where
they mix paint color that indicates day light and room light. This helped to determine if the color was acceptable.
I wish paint manufacturers would sell small or sample sizes.
