We have pulled up the carpet, removed the carpet tack strips and want to paint the concrete floor to look like tiles. Dad needs steps from preparing the concrete to finish. We have heard that acid stain is best, but Behr makes a concrete stain, and we wondered if that would work.We understand the process of painting a base coat for the grout color, and then taping the tile size, then painting the tile color. We intend to come back in with accent colors (by rag application). Dad is hesitating on the detailed prep steps.

Behr concrete stain is a paint, and will wear off. Go to http://www.acid-stain.com for complete info on prep, stains, sealers, etc. Check out their bulletin board for answers to a lot of questions. Good luck with your project!
