hi, I wonder if anyone knows how to reshape the square piece 12x12 marble? to oval or round shape? what kind of the tools do I need? For DIY project, can I use rounder or Rotor Zip to cut it...any input appreciated.

According to John Bridge, marble cutting is best left to a professional. He has posted on this forum that it requires a diamond wetsaw to cut. In addition it takes grinding and polishing with various grades of grit. Perhaps there is a company in your area that sells marble and stone products and might reshape your piece of marble for a minimal fee.

Thanks for the intro, Twelvepole. And you are entirely correct. It is possible, however, to cut/grind marble with a masonry blade in a circular saw. It's a mess -- lots of dust, but it can be done. The finished product will not be smooth and clean. Marble really is a different animal.
