Lifetime warranties are only as good as the Company that provides them! I have a set of socket wrenches from Fleet Tool Corporation, formerly of Schiller Park, IL. Alas, they apparently are no longer in business, or at least I can't track them down. Does anyone know if they have survived mergers, name change etc? Thanks!

Fleet Tool is now the Morgan Francis Company. They are listed as a SuperFund site in CT.
Not sure this really helps, but it is at least a lead.

I always choose names I have heard of before. :) Even when I buy them at estate sales, I generally only go for names I have heard of and US made or European tools. I like Craftsman, the guarantee is unbeatable on hand tools, and I find the quality is pretty good overall. Snap On, Stanley and Craftsman tools can be exchanged at Home Depot for a Husky tool (also pretty good quality).
