What should I use to cap a fireplace flue. I am not wanting to use this fireplace and am going to cover it with insualtion and drywall.

If you aren't going to use the fireplace, just lay a piece of sheet metal over the flue at the top of the chimney and anchor it down with bricks or a concrete cap block.
This is primarily to keep water, debris, birds and animals out of it. Mainly the water.

Hello
What are you doing inside at the box to make sure now one builds a fire, this would have a very bad out come if this should happpen, the least a smoky house and the bad no hous at all...Good Luck
