On ebay there is a 10" sliding compound miter saw for $125.00 plus $25.00 shipping. Does anyone have one to recommend or not? It is supposed to be new and they come from the factory. Is it worth it or not?

I don't personally know how the quality of Chicago Electric is though It sounds like a take off of the well known Chicago Pneumatic. My observation of Ebay auctions is that the Makita, Dewalts and Porter Cables sell for 70 percent or more of the HD price. So if the 150.00 is 70 to 80 percent of a quality slider then go for it and if it's not ?????. The last ingredient to a purchase is the intended use. If you need a tool for sporadic use where quality is not going to make much of difference than a less expensive and less quality minded tool may fit. A compound slider should be well built with quality engineered components to operate properly. This costs money which means the price tag on the saw rises. I would recommend taking the time to do a search on compound miter saws and seeing what the name brands of the same size are selling for. One last thought. How are you going to get warranty service if the saw fails..........I use EBay for throw aways and light wieght tools.

The saw would be worth doing one job where you really needed it.
Then take the profit you made on that job and buy a GOOD one.
