I have 3 old taps with the numbers 12, 14 & 16 stamped into them. Also what appaers to be correspondings does. They are mounted in an adjustable "die stock" and are also stamped with the numbers 12, 14 & 16 but with the number 95 also stamped on them. My father has had them for 50+ years and they were old when he got them. What do I have?

They are probably metric dies. Measure the one stamped 16, and if it is very slightly larger than 5/8 inches, they are metric.
