I have a 45 mitsu big screen. It worked fine yesterday. Now I try to turn it on and it shuts itself of right away. It is 4.5 years old. I am out of $$$ and must find out what simple thing is causing this>

Good Morning, verdejo:
Rather than deal with the electronics, let's deal with the remote control first. Hide the remote control and turn the set on manually. If it works, you might look for a stuck button on the remote control.
Second thought is: have you introduced any new lighting sources in the room? Remote controls are Infra-Red (light) using coded pulses. I've seen stupid things like lava lamps and such trigger the remote receivers in these sets.
These are the easy things. If you are out of bucks and it is an electronic failure, you're going to listening to the radio for a while.
When the set comes on, does the screen light up? Do you get sound? Or does it shut down before anything happens?
Smokey ;)
