Tore down the old brick facing/hearth/mantle. Replacing it with marble. What type of mortar do I use? Aplly to wallboard? Attach like ceramic tile with just mortar?

Hello
ionsstall wonder board under tile and use thinset under the tile......Make sure you meet all the code conserns for the harth and sides of the fire place...Good Luck
