My realistic/portavision has no audio through the speaker ,and also there is no audio through the headset. I am hoping that the fact there is no audio through both areas will be a helpful clue to the problem. The tv is a realistic/portavision,model 16-107. thank you for any help.

I wouldn't hold up much hope for getting this beast fixed. When you open them up, there is usually one huge solid state circuit with forty-leven legs on it. Any exterior circuits are usually transistors about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. The costs to repair exceed the cost of replacement.
In short, it's a throw-away. You might take it back to Radio Shack and talk to them about it but I will bet they will tell you the same thing.
