I have a breakfast nook in my new home that includes a window seat. I would like to make it rich and warm looking, i.e., burgundy or deep red stripes in conjuction with florals that cover the chair cushions, window seat cushion and curtains. The table and chairs have forest green legs, but the seat and table top are pine. The walls are very soft beige.
My living room furniture is taupe and black striped and you can see the breakfast nook from the living room, but not the kitchen itself.
The question is: Should I continue the living room color scheme to the breakfast nook area or are the colors I mentioned simpatico? I'm considering a color change for the living room window(2)curtains anyway and thought a burgundy or deep red would pull it all together a bit more.
Thank you,
gabrielej

When I planned my house I picked out 3 main colors. I put one of each color in a room as the primary color. The other two colors may or maynot be included in the room depending on if it could be seen from another room. Other colors were also used that blended but these were accents only, they were lighter shades of the primary colors.
When you select a color for these two rooms make the primary the same. Your secondary can be different in each room but try to put all the colors you choose in both.
If you would like a more detailed explanation of what I think you should do, tell me what you have and in what colors. You told me colors and some items but I need to see the whole picture.
