Hi I want to remove my sower doors and install glass brick any tips I should know? also does this make sense?

It doesn't make sense unless you have another way into the shower. I think I would leave the door alone.

John thanks for replying this is a walk in shower 6ft long with 4ft shower doors my wife wants to remove the doors and install glass brick 2.5 ft wide hope this clears the picture thanks again

Jim,

Usually when we use glass blocks, they are incorporated into the shower as it is built. The blocks are tiled in, instead of being mounted against the tile. Retro-fitting would be a little tough, if not impractical altogether.

Additionally, The glass wall would have to be support from the top somehow. It can't be counted upon to support itself. There would probably need to be a post running up to the ceiling.

Further, you can't drill into glass blocks, which makes it very difficult to mount a door or a curtain rod or any hardware whatever.

Again, I'd leave things as they are or start from scratch and do a proper job.

i realize you are not going to do this project but plastic blocks work the same as glass ones but are much much lighter in weight
