Does anyone know where I can purchase a draw knife. For those not familiar with the term, a draw knife is a blade about 14 inches long and about 2 inches wide with a handle at each end. It is used for rough shaping wood and hand peeling logs.

How many do you want? Here in the Missouri Ozarks I can find one at nearly every other estate auction. I got mine by outbidding an Amish guy.

I was hoping that someone could point me to a hardware store or tool crib from which I could order one. It is rather pointless to travel 3000+ miles on the hope that I can find an estate sale that might have a draw knife. It would be cheaper and easier to make one.

Walt,
Draw knives are available several places on the internet, from on-line catalogs to e-Bay. Some nice vintage ones on e-Bay, that will end today.

I'm sure there are many more available, this was just from a quick search.

Thank you, Rick. I've been searching the web for a couple of months with no luck. I just could not make myself believe that draw knives were not available. It appears that I was using the wrong key words.
Again, thank you.
Walt

My key words were "draw knife", the quotes are necessary to only get hits that contain both words in that order.
