I am trying to remove old vinyl paper. I am using DIF in gel form. The bottle does not say to mix with water but should I anyway? It doesn't seem to be getting wet enough. I have scored but parts of it doesn't want to come off. Thanks for any help.

jazz2798,
Try removing the vinyl surface of the paper first. Lift a corner and slowly remove vinyl. You don't want to go too fast because you may pull off all the paper and the drywall cover paper also. Then use the DIF to remove the backing and the paste off the walls. It is really difficult to get the under paper wet enough with some vinyls.

I appreciate you taking the time to post an answer. I ended up renting a steamer and thats exactly how it came off. The vinyl part came off easily and then the paper underneath scraped off after getting it wet with the steam. Dif did nothing for me but make a big mess!!! No more wllpaper for me. LOL Thanks again.
