I'm renovating my bathroom, My floor is made of 2X8 Joists every 16 inches, the sub-floor is 1 1/8 inches plywood.
The tub manufacturer tells me my floor must withstand 1100 lbs (tub+ 2 people + water).

Is my floor stong enough or must I reinforce it?

Not sure if your floor is strong enough, but I know it will depend on several things. First, how far do your floor joists span? Where along that span will your tub be. Also, will the tub be aligned across or with the joists? In other words, how many joists will be directly under the tub? Also, what's underneath? If it's easy to add reinforcements, I would. Even if you just add a post and beam support, or just double the joists. Your 1 1/8 subfloor will hold anything your joists can support. Best of luck!
