I have a veneer finished dresser that is from the early 70's and was wondering how I would go about refinishing it. I would like to paint it but don't know how to get started. Do I have to take the veneer off first then sand or can I just sand the veneer down?
Thank you,
Kristin

If teh furniture has a finish, you need to sand that enough to dull teh sheen. Apply a good primer such as BIN or KILZ (2 coats) sanding lightly after each has dried, then paint.
If the furniture has no finish at all - just primer and paint.
