Hi,

I have need to repair a rain gutter on the house eave. I need to use a ladder stand-off, 10" deep, at the top of the ladder to get me away from the house and closer to the gutter. I also need to use ladder jacks to hold a walk board between 2 ladders.

When I went to Home Depot to buy the stand-off for $20, the product says "..do not use in conjuction with ladder jacks and planks...". The ladder jacks, by Werner, also had the same bold print warning.

Is is truely unsafe to use the combination in order to get to the gutter? Can I do it anyway if I take some precaution?

If you do it and get injured you are forwarned by Warner that they will win the lawsuit.
