I am going to be laying new vinyl flooring down in a small bathroom. I have removed all of the old vinyl floor but there is still adhesive left in patches. How important, or is it important, to remove all of the adhesive from the cement floor before applying the new adhesive and floor?

What is most important is that the surface has no obstructions which would cause lumps or bumps in the new vinyl.

Make sure the dry fit works before you put any glue down.

Use a good notched trowel to put the adhesive down. make sure it is good and set up before you put the vinyl down.
