I have a ceiling that needs repairing. I am unsure what the current ceiling is made out of. It has wood strips running perpindicular to the joists and has 1/4" layer of some board applied to these boards. It looks like conrete the back has a texture that fits in between the wood strips. The front is smooth and looks like a tile. It has water damage from a roof leak there are holes that need to be repaired. Any idea on what it is on the ceiling and how to repair it. The house was built in 1927.
