I have an existing 30 X 12 deck attached to the house about 10" off the ground. Made of 2 X 6 pt lumber. I want to put a spa that will be 64 SF and will have a filled weight of 6000 lbs. I have not pulled the surface boards to check framing as of yet. How do I figure what the load should be prevent future problems. I am thinking of putting concrete blocks under the framing.

have u considered having a concrete slab poured and recessing the hot tub into the deck-it wil be hard to work with such limited ground clearance as far as footings and reinforcing goes to put it on the deck
