I have had my deck for five years and have never done anything to it. I was told that it is pre treated wood, but I'm not sure. Everytime I bring up the subject of staining it I am being told that it has to be at least 75 degrees. Is this a fact or can I stain it even if it is only 50-60degrees.

Wait until it's warmer. Don't think in terms of the highest temp. of the day, think of the lowest!! That is the temp. at which your stain will finish drying.
