Have a couple new strips of maple floor, they do not match the old. What can I do to make the new darker.

You will have to wait until the new wood ages to match the old. Maple tends to be susceptible to UVB rays and will turn color within a couple of years.

Pete:
I've always suggested in using some existing flooring for repairs. Using new will always look like a repair and my recommendation is to carefully remove some old from some unnoticed areas such as a closet.
Whoaa, then it could be a gluedown engineered floor! In that case it wouldn't work. I'm sure that's not the case but I thought it was worth adding.
