I have an old porcelin table and chairs that I'm trying to strip and the paint is just giving me such a problem. How do you determine if this could be a lead-based paint and if so what removes it the best?

Your local health department (city or county) can provide you wiht information concerning lead based paint, including who can test it properly.

If you're trying to remove the original finish - forget it. It ain't gonna happen.

Most good paint and varnish removers should remove the other paint - follow the mfgs. instuctions.

I suggest you test the PEEL AWAY 7 product which I would think would do a complete removal job for you. Unfortunately poaint/coatings removal is not a science that you can automatically say use this and pof everytrhing is gone. PEEL AWAY 7 is an excellent product and will not damge your piece in any way.
