I am finishing off my basement and the drain line for the shower is 18" from the foundation wall. I would like to put in a standard 32"x32" shower pan. If I subtract out 4" for studs+sheetrock I am left with 14" which is not enough space.
Is there anything that can be done other than moving the drain line a couple of inches?

Thought about turning the studs flat sideways at the shower stall?
That'll gain you the additional 2" to center over the drain.
Good Luck!

Is the "drain" pipe an existing drain pipe? If so, are you sure you will be able to properly retrofit a shower drain assembly to it?
In many of my basement remodels, we have found that
the initial cost of breaking up a small section of the slab to allow to connect properly to the drain and to scoot it's center over to here or there, is very much worth the cost.
