Is it okay to install a suspended ceiling in the bathroom?

I just did in mine. The bathroom has a shower, but it will be used only rarely. I'm prepared to replace ceiling tiles yearly if I have to. I just wasn't willing to cover the plumbing access for the kitchen and upstairs bath. I asked an ex-plumber that works at the local hardware store and he said it was fine. Of course you want a decent exhaust fan, too.
