I have heard alot about using brown paper bags, like grocery bags as a wallcovering. I have seen it and it looks just like a wallpaper. I would like to know how to do this myself.

kriley, This produces an elephant hide look and is very easy to do. Two ways...Tear brown bags into random sizes and crumple them into balls and spread them out. Thin water based poly with 25% water and dip the paper and spread on the wall overlapping the paper an inch or two. The other method is to paste the back of the paper with a premixed wallpaper glue and apply. After dry, seal with the unthinned poly. I prefer the second method because I have control of the final sheen. This job can also be painted with a flat wall paint(go with the second method) and deep reds, blues and greens are to die for...Mike
