Help!!!! I want to build a "custom" shower. I have just gutted my bathroom, and would like to build a "custom" shower'but have no clue as to the "process"...I would like to do it all in ceramic tile..I prefer not to use a fiberglass pan....Can I get someone to give me some suggestions?? Is this project too hard for a stubborn beginner?? Please respond ASAP, as this room is hollow!!! Thanks, Miss BEE

For basic shower plumbing, you will need hot and cold water supply lines to the shower faucet(s) and showerhead(s), and a vented drain line and trap.
See the "Build/Remodel" section above for Bathrooms. Also go to http://www.bhglive.com/homeimp/ and follow the links in the Plumbing section.
Check with your local Building Inspector for code requirements.
For your tile questions, ask in the Ceramic Tile forum here, and go to http://www.johnbridge.com. John wrote a book on the subject. You can get copy of that, or post questions on his board.
If you've never done any of this before, read up on the subject thoroughly before beginning, and be certain that you know how to do it right.
Then you can assemble the right tools, equipment and materials.
It would cost more to tear out and start over than it would to do it from scratch, if you had to hire professionals.
Good Luck!
Mike

While tooling down toward the tile forum just happened to notice Old Guy's handle. Thought I'd stop in and say hi.

Hi Miss Bee, and hi Mike. Oh, and thanks for the plug, Mike.
