Decks, Patios, Porches and Docks - how do i attatch a deck to vinal siding?

i am trying to build a deck. i just need to know how do one thing. how do i attatch the deck to the housae and work around the vinal siding?

first you take the one or two probably two panels of siding off.not hard to do with the right tool,we call them zip tools uh,lowes any of those kind of stores probably sell them bout 3-4 bucksok now you secure your ledger bandboard whatever you want to call it to the house with lag boltsthat go through the sheathing and into the bottom plate or at least into the studs.do your thing with the deck,get some stuff called j channel ron your j channel up and over your deck cut siding to fit and walla your done.oh yeah almost forgot you need to put some metal flashing between the wall of your house and the deck so water doesnt collect there and rot your walls.hope its pretty clear if not i check this almost every day so ask away

or....after thinking about your question a little more why not have it be a free standing deck?(not attached to the house)not sure about where you live but here you dont have to pull permits and it would save you the trouble of messing with siding j channel lag bolts etc just a thought
