We have decided not to spray paint with our new construction so we would like some tips on methods and sequences of priming and painting. Any time savers are appreciated. Thanks.

1. Use an 18" roller
2. Have one person cutting in corners and one on the roller
3. Switch back and forth for mental and physical reasons
4. Cut in the corners, ceiling edges twice for a uniform look
5. Use a good primer and paint
6. Buy your primer and paint by the 5 gal. bucket

Sharons, The methods could go on forever so I will tell you what will make the greatest(IMHO) difference(despite what the average house painter will tell you) to the long term good of your home. Use Zinsser 123 to prime all drywall. This costs a little more per gallon but after thinning 10-15% wiil not cost you much over the junk primer. If you use wall paint for drywall primer or the cheap drywall primers you will likely be sorry in time. DO NOT USE THEM! They do not have the bonding properties that the 100% acrylic primers do and you don't want anything less holding the finish coat to the wall. Prime all raw wood and bath drywall with an oil primer.....Mike
