Hi,
my house currently has a deck 10X12, I want to extend it
to 16X30. The deck doesn't currently have girders, but all the plans I've seen use them.
Do I need to use Girders or can I get away with just 2X10 Joists?
Any help here is appreciated.

How are the joists going to be supported without girders? You can span 16' with a 2X10.

Currently the joists are supported by a piece of wood nailed
to the bottom of the 2X10 on the face of the house and at 10ft joist/facia at the end of the deck.
I had intended to use Joist hangers attached to 2X10.
