View Full Version : Glue on painted wall

Last week I hung a pre-pasted, scrubbable wallpaper halfway up my dining room wall. We had previously painted with two coats of a high quality interior satin paint, then I primed the lower portion of the wall. Now, in spite of wiping excessively after each piece was hung, I am still left with glazed areas on my wall from the wallpaper paste. Considering that the paint is very durable, what can I use to get this off?

lahobart, The hazing over of satin/semi-gloss paint that has had wallpaper paste on it is a common problem. Try washing with clean water and drieing with a bath towel. I don't know why but theres something about terry cloth that works well for this. Let dry an hour or so and if the problem is still there repeat but use Windex sprayed on the area before washing and drieing. The only other thing to try before repainting is to wash the entire wall and dry. This has saved me many times in the past and I hope something works out for you....Mike
