Help!I just moved to a home that was built in the early 80's and was attempting to remove some sort of paper that was used as wallpaper and looks like it was painted over. This is in the bathroom.I purchased a scraper and DIF spray. It is not working. The parts that I was able to remove, underneath is cardboard which is coming off in pieces.Underneath is drywall..I was wanting to just paint and border...What to do???!It looks like someone attempted a new experiment in wall covering, maybe a school project.Any advice would be much appreciated.

cgold, It sounds like you may be better off to trim out any loose material and prime the walls with an oil primer. At this point you will have stable wall and can patch, paint or re-paper. Most of the time labor and materials considered it is better to KILZ, patch and paperdue to extensive patching painting requires to look well...Mike
