2 separate questions here. My daughter just bought a house that had foundation repairs done on it. The outside brick
walls have several areas of cracks (some minor some not so minor)that need repair. Also the concrete patio and walkway were broken out and repatched (to put in the piers) and there is obvious color difference...is painting the best answer?

Typically broken brick are replaced. The "live with it repair" is to flow grout into the cracks. If the cracking is though the mortar only chisel the mortar out and tuckpoint with new mortar.
A color difference always occurs when concrete is patched. The options are wait six months then clean the entire area with a potassium hydroxide cleaner and then powerwash (it may improve, but an exact match is doubtful). Apply concrete stain or paint (either is continued maintenance, but stain is usually less so). Acid stain the entire area (a permanate chemcially activated color change). Apply a concrete topping. Live with it.
