I currently have this old paneling with groves and bumps from the nails all over in it and I would like to wallpaper over the top of the old paneling. It has a very slick finish on it. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

buckup5, First you need to eliminate everything, like nails/screws that you don't plan to make use of. Sand the paneling or wash with a deglosser. Prime the paneling completely with a latex primer. Now decide whether you want to fill the grooves with drywall compound or use liner (hung horizontally). After the liner or compound has time to dry, you'll need to prime the walls again to asure the wallpaper will adhere to the walls. Now your ready to hang your choice of wallcovering. Good Luck & Have Fun.
