I am remodeling a home about 60 years old. The wall appear to be 3/8" thick fiberboard with cheap paneling nailed over it and then in some rooms cat shreaded wallpaper. Question: can I attach drywall directly over this mess ? Would it be better to strip down the wall to stud... I guess I could insulate the outside walls like that.

Hello,

If your walls have no insulation, then I'd say kill two birds with one stone and remove, insulate and replace.

Just my opinion though....

Good Luck!
