I have a brick platform with three graduated heights (similiar to a wedding cake). Due to poor drainage and too much water it is sagging and crumbling. What is the method for taking this apart?

Unless the brick is irreplaceable one reality is a mason would dismantle it with a sledge hammer and build it anew. Cut the mortar with a cold chisel and club hammer. Sometimes a wide chisel (steel flooring chisel) is useful to shear the mortar (the chisel acts as a wedge slicing the mortar and separating the brick). Sometimes a wreaking bar is useful also.
