I have heard from several people that you can dye carpeting to match room colors instead of having to buy new carpet. Has anyone else heard this? Does anyone know how to do it? If anyone has directions on how to do this, or knows how I can find directions, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Laura.

Click on the search option at the top of this page. type "carpet dyeing" it should bring up some posts from someone that posted awhile back. I remember someone posting about it.

I had a friend who did it by renting a carpet cleaner at the grocery store and putting the dye/water mixture in in-place of shampoo mixture. She was very pleased with her results.

I'd hate to be the next person that rents that carpet cleaner!!!! The place where they rented it from keeps records of who rented it last and guess who is going to be buying a house full of carpet. Same goes for adding bleach to the rental cleaners.
I hope they cleaned and ran a bunch of detergent through that rented machine.
