Can someone tell me how a router guide bushing works. I am doing more woodworking projects and I am still pretty new to this.

A router guide bushing is used for cuts like dove tails.
It guides the bit when you use a jig. It provides the proper clearance. It is basically a collar the fits on your router plate. They come in various sizes. You can find a kit at your local wood dealer.

Thanks that helps a little bit. I guess I will have to purchase a set and try it out.
