We have a row of twelve tiles that have cracked. I started to remove them myself but quickly found I really don't have the time to do the job since I have three young kids to care for. I called and got one estimate of 265.00. The other guy said that to fix the crack in the concrete he will have to remove a two foot section and put down crack suppression, he will come tonight to give an estimate. My question is, is there no other way to fix the crack? We are hoping to move soon, and are not really interested in re-doing the whole floor like this guy is talking about. But we don't want it to crack again either. Is there no other way to fix the crack? Any thoughts? Thanks, Susan

Hi Susan,
I have used with great success a crack isolation membrane over cracks. I don't know if removing concrete in your floor is neccesary without actually looking at it first. (highly unlikely)
Maybe you should get at least one more tile contractor in there and see what they say. Also go to a tile supply shop Not a homecenter, but a place that sells tile supplies exclusively and start asking questions. They can explain crack isolation membrane and may even have some available.
Good Luck
